Leadership does not unfold separately from life.
Women may be navigating greater responsibility, changing identities, career transitions, caregiving, ambition, loss, opportunity, visibility, or questions about what they want the next season of their lives and leadership to become.
We create learning and mentoring experiences where women can recognize the patterns influencing how they respond, draw on what experience has taught them, and strengthen their capacity to lead with clarity, agency, connection, and intention.

A Call to Women who sense thatsomething more is asking to emerge.
If you recognize yourself here, WAIT™ invites you to bring one concern that matters now and stay with it long enough to discover what it is revealing and what it is asking of you.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
WAIT™, Women Achieve Intentional Transformation, is a participatory learning and mentoring immersion for women ready to examine the patterns shaping their lives and leadership and make more intentional choices about what comes next.
We understand that a woman can be accomplished, capable, and deeply experienced and still reach a moment when familiar ways of leading, achieving, responding, or enduring no longer fit the life taking shape around her. A shift in role, identity, responsibility, opportunity, or direction can reveal patterns quietly shaping choices for years. WAIT™ begins with the recognition that visible loss and invisible becoming often arrive together and centers the work on one concern that matters now in your life or leadership.
Meaningful transformation asks more than deciding what to do next. It asks us to notice how experience, interpretation, inherited patterns, relationships, and practiced responses shape what we believe is possible. Guided by The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™, participants move through six practices: Think Deeply, Harvest Wisdom, Release Patterns, Enlist Allies, Adopt Change, and Design Wholeness. The work moves inward, backward, outward, and forward into intentional practice.
Through facilitated learning, mentoring, reflection, community, and real-world application, participants stay with one real concern long enough to see it from more than one angle, recognize patterns shaping their responses, draw from what they already know, engage others with greater intention, and experiment with new ways forward. The concern becomes a place to practice seeing more clearly, choosing more intentionally, and discovering what the moment is revealing and asking of you.
“Throughout the program, I felt seen, heard, understood, and supported. I know better how to set an intention for the outcome I want in any situation. Now, I am working on my poetry book.”
“By the end of the program, I established personal and professional goals, expanded and upleveled my network, and leaned into the transformed woman I am becoming.”
The Full Learning Journey
WAIT™ turns the six practices of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™ into one applied journey. The concern you name at the start becomes the living thread connecting reflection, learning, practice, and real-world application.
Foundations · Learning to See
Before the six practices, participants establish the shared language, pattern lens, and living thread that will carry through the entire experience.
We begin by learning to see transformation differently, examining how pressure, response, and repetition shape the patterns of our lives and leadership.
Explore ModuleWe begin by learning to see transformation differently, examining how pressure, response, and repetition shape the patterns of our lives and leadership. Together, we explore the six practices of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™ to see those patterns more clearly, question what they reveal, and make more intentional choices about what comes next.
Turning toward the ancestral art of quilting, this session invites us to recover the wisdom held in piecing, stitching, repairing, and making meaning from what has been carried forward.
Explore ModuleTurning toward the ancestral art of quilting, this session invites us to recover the wisdom held in piecing, stitching, repairing, and making meaning from what has been carried forward. Through the language of pattern, we learn to step back from individual pieces, see how they belong to a larger whole, and examine what their making reveals before altering anything.
Before moving into the six practices, you identify one concern that matters now, a leadership challenge, transition, opportunity, question, decision, or possibility.
Explore ModuleBefore moving into the six practices, you identify one concern that matters now, a leadership challenge, transition, opportunity, question, decision, or possibility. You clarify what is happening, why it matters, what it is costing, who or what is affected, and what you most want to create. This concern becomes the living thread you carry throughout the experience to examine how you perceive, respond, decide, relate, and act.
We turn inward to examine what shapes the matter beneath the surface, then look back to recall what experience has already taught us. Together, these movements help us see more clearly what we are carrying, what we have learned, and what the emerging pattern may be revealing.
With the living thread named in Foundations, we begin by laying out the pieces of the matter as they are now. We separate what is happening from the interpretations, assumptions, and meanings already attached to it, so we can see more clearly what we are working with.
What is here before I explain it?
Turning inward, we examine what may be operating beneath our first explanation of the matter. Through deeper inquiry, we surface the assumptions, expectations, values, and self-definitions shaping how we perceive and respond to what is happening.
What am I assuming that I have not yet examined?
Reflecting backward, we revisit experiences that may hold wisdom for the matter before us now. Rather than treating the past as something simply left behind, we examine what it has taught us, what capacities it has formed, and what deserves to be carried forward.
What has my experience already taught me that I need now?
Turning a quilt over reveals construction you can't see from the finished side. We do the same with the matter we are carrying, stepping back from its individual pieces to examine the connections, repetitions, tensions, and structures becoming visible underneath.
What can I see now that I could not see from the front?
Reaching downward toward the patterns that continue to hold authority, then outward toward the people and perspectives that can widen what we see. Together, these movements help us discern what must be released, what requires another vantage point, and what becomes possible when the pattern begins to move.
Turning downward, we follow the pattern beneath the behavior to the beliefs, habits, expectations, and responses that continue to shape it. We examine what may once have served a purpose but no longer deserves authority over what comes next.
What am I still allowing to govern me, and does it still deserve that authority?
Reaching outward reminds us that transformation is not solitary work. We identify the people, perspectives, relationships, and resources that can challenge our assumptions, reveal what we cannot see alone, and enlarge our capacity to move.
Who can help me see what I cannot see alone?
We turn the quilt over again, this time looking for movement in the pattern. With assumptions questioned, patterns interrupted, and new perspectives introduced, we examine what has shifted and what is now visible that was previously hidden.
What has moved, and what does that movement make possible?
Turning upward moves insight into practice. Rather than waiting for complete certainty, we identify one intentional change, test it in real-life leadership conditions, and learn from what happens.
What is the first true step I am willing to take?
Look upward toward action and forward toward a more intentional way of living and leading. Together, these movements ask us to test what we have learned, bring the pieces into greater coherence, and design a way forward that can hold when pressure returns.
Moving forward asks more than changing one behavior; it asks whether the pieces of our lives and leadership can work together more coherently. We bring values, relationships, responsibilities, resources, choices, and aspirations into view and consider what must align for the change to hold.
What needs to come into relationship for this next chapter to hold?
The third Quilt Turn stress-tests the emerging design against lived reality. We examine whether what we have shaped can hold under real pressure, where the seams are strong, where the design remains vulnerable, and what must be refined before carrying it forward.
Will what you have designed actually hold?
For the final turn, we step back far enough to see the pattern we have been working with as a whole. We trace what has changed across the journey, what remains, what has been reworked, and what the emerging pattern now makes possible.
What becomes visible when you see the pieces together?
Transformation becomes meaningful when it can travel beyond the moment that produced it. We gather the wisdom, choices, practices, relationships, and commitments developed through the experience into a T.H.R.E.A.D. Roadmap for carrying the work forward.
How will I carry this pattern forward when life tests it?

Find Your WAIT™ Pathway
WAIT™ is for women who sense there is more in what they have lived than they have yet named or carried forward with intention. It serves women across life, vocation, and leadership: executives and emerging leaders, educators, public servants, healthcare and nonprofit professionals, entrepreneurs, students, caregivers, veterans, founders, and women returning to work, school, or a part of themselves put on hold.
You may be navigating a transition, facing a difficult decision, preparing for a new opportunity, questioning whether your path still fits, or feeling accomplished yet underused. WAIT™ also serves colleges, universities, mission-driven organizations, and teams strengthening women’s leadership, talent, and culture. A formal leadership title is optional; willingness to engage the work is what matters.

Program Pillars
Recognize the assumptions, habits, responses, relationships, and systems shaping how you move through life and leadership.
Surface the knowledge, strengths, and hard-won wisdom already in your experience.
Discern what to keep, release, strengthen, or redesign so old patterns do not decide the future for you.
Translate reflection into new behaviors, decisions, and ways of leading you can test in real life.
Integrate life, leadership, values, relationships, and purpose into a more coherent way forward.
WAIT™ is an active, participatory leadership and adult-learning experience. Participants work with a real matter while building the capacity to recognize patterns, choose intentionally, and practice change. The approach draws on applied learning, reflective practice, real-world experimentation, multiple ways of knowing, and systems thinking. In the facilitated cohort pathway, mentoring, facilitated dialogue, and the three Turn the Quilt Over™ integrations add structured opportunities to widen perspective, examine progress, and demonstrate learning. WAIT™ is an educational and leadership-development program. It does not provide psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, diagnosis, or clinical services.
WAIT™ is a structured professional-development experience with defined learning outcomes, applied learning activities, and completion criteria.
The Facilitated Cohort pathway comprises approximately 25 hours of structured learning: one hour of Foundations plus twelve 2-hour modules. The same instructional hours apply when the cohort curriculum is delivered at an accelerated or extended pace.
Participants who satisfy the requirements for their selected pathway receive documentation of successful completion.
Cost
Cohort size is intentionally managed to preserve meaningful participation, mentoring, and applied learning.
Foundations and the six T.H.R.E.A.D. practices, self-paced, plus the Learning Portfolio and Transformation Roadmap. Does not include live facilitated sessions, cohort mentoring, or the three Quilt Turn integrations.
The full twelve-module experience: Foundations, the six practices, all three Quilt Turns, live facilitated sessions, cohort mentoring, applied practice, portfolio, and completion documentation.
A private cohort sized with the organization, offered at an accelerated, standard, or extended pace, with contextualized application and a shared roadmap.
We want the cost to create as little distance as possible between a woman and the work she is ready to undertake. WAIT™ program fees are paid to The Thread Institute. Charitable gifts and grants intended to support participant access are made through The Thread Movement and may support eligible scholarships or supported-access opportunities.
Employers, organizations, foundations, and donors may also sponsor individual participants or cohorts. Organizations using workforce, leadership-development, education, or other grant funding are responsible for determining whether WAIT™ is an allowable expense under the requirements of their particular funding source.
The Thread Movement is fiscally sponsored by the Santa Barbara Foundation.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. WAIT™ is for women leading, building, serving, learning, caring, returning, transitioning, or preparing for what comes next. The common thread is a willingness to work with what this moment is asking of you.
One real matter: a challenge, decision, transition, opportunity, unresolved question, or possibility you cannot stop thinking about. You may arrive with uncertainty. That matter becomes the material you return to throughout the experience.
Every participant actively works with the learning rather than only consuming content. You will inquire, write, map, examine evidence, experiment in real life, build a portfolio, and translate what you discover into intentional practice.
In the facilitated cohort pathway, you also engage other perspectives through mentoring and facilitated dialogue and complete the three Quilt Turn integrations.
Within the facilitated cohort pathway, participants complete three Quilt Turns at designated integration points. The front of a quilt shows the emerging pattern; the back makes its construction, tension, reinforcement, and connections more visible. Each Quilt Turn creates a structured opportunity to step back, examine what has become visible, and look again before moving forward.
The Facilitated Cohort pathway includes cohort-based mentoring. It is not included in the Individual Self-Paced pathway. Where offered, private mentoring and individualized portfolio or roadmap feedback may be purchased separately.
Learning is demonstrated through applied work rather than attendance alone. Across the applicable pathway, participants create artifacts such as the Baseline Reflection, Matter Map, Vision Thread, practice assignments, WAIT™ Learning Portfolio, Transformation Roadmap, and Next-Stitch Commitment. Facilitated cohort participants also complete mentoring reflections, three Quilt Turns, and a Final Integration Reflection.
WAIT™ may be purchased through either a one-time payment or a recurring membership through the Thinkific platform. The applicable price, billing frequency, and payment option are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. A one-time payment is charged once. A membership renews according to the billing cycle shown at checkout until you cancel it.
WAIT™ includes a 10-day money-back guarantee on the initial purchase.
For a one-time enrollment, submit a refund request within 10 calendar days of the original purchase. For a membership, the guarantee applies to the initial membership payment when the request is submitted within 10 calendar days of the original membership purchase. Membership renewal payments are not included in the 10-day guarantee once processed, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
Canceling a membership prevents future renewals but does not by itself create a refund for a payment already processed.
If you choose a membership, you may cancel future renewals at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period already paid for, and access continues through the end of that period unless otherwise stated at enrollment. No further membership payments will be charged after cancellation takes effect. A one-time enrollment has no recurring payment to cancel. Refund requests for either payment option follow the money-back policy above.

The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™
The T.H.R.E.A.D System Is A Nonlinear Practice-Based Framework Developed by Dr. Leonie H Mattison, For Transforming Pressure into Coherence and Wholeness
The pressure is real, but pressure rarely tells the whole story. It does not simply descend upon a person, team, organization, or community. It is interpreted, distributed, absorbed, displaced, and converted into decisions, relationships, behaviors, and structures.
The deeper work is to understand where pressure travels, who carries it, what the system protects, and what the future is permitted to become. T.H.R.E.A.D. makes those patterns visible so that response can become conscious practice rather than repetition.
What Is The Thread
The Thread is the connective logic running beneath pressure: what a person carries, what an organization repeats, what a community remembers, and what each is trying to make possible next.
It is both a metaphor and a method. Rather than rushing from a visible problem to another solution, the work asks us to notice what is being interpreted, inherited, protected, repeated, transferred, and reinforced beneath the surface.
The question is not only What happened? or How do we fix it? It is also: What is this pressure revealing about the pattern—and what becomes possible when we can finally see it?
Overview of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System
The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™ is nonlinear by design. It gives people, organizations, and communities a disciplined way to make patterns visible, widen interpretation, move insight into practice, and design conditions capable of holding change.
Each practice names a capability. Each movement names a direction of attention. Click any folder to explore the work it invites.

Six directions of attention that help us interpret, understand, go deeper, relate, rise, and enact.
Question: How do we know what we think we know?
Purpose: Create interpretive space before pressure narrows the field.
Question: What sits beneath the visible problem?
Purpose: Move below symptoms to examine assumptions, root conditions, power, structures, and the deeper pattern holding the issue in place.
Question: How did this reality become possible?
Purpose: Examine history, memory, identity, prior decisions, and inherited conditions.
Question: Who must participate in interpreting, authorizing, and carrying the work?
Purpose: Distribute interpretation, authority, and action through relationship.
Question: What becomes visible when we step back and see the larger whole?
Purpose: Lift attention from the immediate issue to coherence, possibility, system-wide implications, and the future the work is trying to serve.
Question: What must be enacted, resourced, measured, and structurally reinforced?
Purpose: Translate insight into practice and conditions that can sustain it.
The T.H.R.E.A.D. System Platform
An interactive, AI-assisted transformation workspace that begins with the Thread Check-In and connects what people are experiencing to pattern intelligence, the six practices, the six movements, scenario design, an implementation roadmap, and measurable learning over time.
The platform uses AI to support synthesis and pattern recognition; people validate what is true, what is missing, and what should happen next.
Capture the pressure, current response, impact, strengths, support, gap, desired outcome, and cost of no change. The Check-In creates a shared starting point before solutions are proposed.
The platform keeps diagnosis, participation, design, execution, and outcomes in one living view—so the work can change as new evidence, voices, and conditions emerge.

The Transformation Pathway
The Pathway
Something changes, intensifies, or asks for attention.
A person, group, or system reacts to what pressure brings forward.
Repeated responses and underlying structures become recognizable.
The pattern makes meaning, cost, and possibility more visible.
A different relationship to the moment becomes available.
Insight moves into behavior, relationship, structure, and action.
New configurations and futures begin to take form.
Learning becomes part of how people and systems move forward.
The pathway is not strictly linear. People and organizations may return to earlier stages, experience two stages at once, or move through stages at different speeds. Naming the stages makes them visible, and what becomes visible can be worked with.
Pathway and Practices
The pathway describes what is happening. The six practices describe how to move through it with intention.
Make hidden structures and underlying patterns visible.
Gather insight from experience, community, history, and different perspectives.
Loosen what has reached its limits and create room for another configuration.
Bring people, relationships, and support into the work.
Move insight into decisions, behaviors, structures, and practice.
Bring distinct pieces into coherent relationship while preserving their individuality.
Where the Pathway Is at Work
It appears in leadership transitions, organizational change, community disruption, personal seasons of loss or growth, systems facing new demands, and institutions working to align with a changing world.
Naming it makes it possible to move through change with greater awareness, discernment, and coherence.

The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™
The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™ gives young people six practices for learning to move through pressure differently:
Think Deeply. Harvest Wisdom. Release Patterns. Enlist Allies. Adopt Change. Design Wholeness.
Youth begin with self-inquiry, looking beneath the immediate decision, challenge, or transition to examine:
What is happening?
What is it costing me?
What keeps repeating?
What do I already know?
Who can help?
What do I want to create next?
From there, they learn six repeatable practices for turning reflection into intentional action.
Look beneath the immediate decision to understand the feelings, values, expectations, assumptions, and pressures shaping the moment.
Draw from lived experience, strengths, lessons, culture, setbacks, relationships, and what life has already taught you.
Recognize the beliefs, habits, responses, and stories beneath the surface that may be narrowing what feels possible.
Identify the people, relationships, resources, communities, and opportunities that can expand support and possibility.
Work with new information, experiment with another response, and practice a different way forward.
Connect education, work, relationships, wellbeing, purpose, responsibility, and possibility into a future that feels meaningful and sustainable.
Six practices. Six movements.
Inward. Backward. Downward. Outward. Upward. Forward.
FutureWoven™ moves self-inquiry into practice, helping young people understand what is shaping their choices and develop a way of responding they can return to as their lives and circumstances change.
And practice begins with something real.
LEARNING + MENTORING
Our FutureWoven™ Learning + Mentoring Workshops equip students from high school through college with practical, action-based learning experiences designed for the real decisions, transitions, pressures, and opportunities they are navigating now.
Grounded in the six practices of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™, each workshop helps young people strengthen self-awareness, recognize patterns, draw from experience, build supportive relationships, adapt to change, and make more intentional choices about education, work, and their future.
Students do more than talk about what comes next. They reflect, practice, apply, and leave with a next step.
Explore the workshop that meets students where they are.
THINK DEEPLY
For students making decisions about college, majors, careers, identity, or what comes next.
Build the capacity to separate outside expectations from what matters personally and make choices with greater clarity.
HARVEST WISDOM
For students navigating setbacks, transitions, rejection, or uncertainty.
Learn how to draw insight from lived experience and use what has already been learned to inform the next move.
RELEASE PATTERNS
For students who recognize patterns of procrastination, avoidance, comparison, self-doubt, or shutting down under pressure.
Identify what keeps repeating and practice responses that create more choice.
ENLIST ALLIES
For students who need guidance, connection, resources, mentorship, or access to opportunity.
Learn how to identify allies, strengthen networks, make intentional asks, and know when and where to reach for support.
ADOPT CHANGE
For students whose plans, interests, circumstances, or goals are changing.
Build the capacity to respond to new information, explore possibilities, and adjust direction without treating change as failure.
DESIGN WHOLENESS
For students thinking beyond the next credential or job toward the life they want to build.
Connect education, work, relationships, wellbeing, purpose, and opportunity into a more meaningful vision for what comes next.
From high school to college, FutureWoven™ helps young people build the practices to navigate the path, not just reach the next destination.
Find the workshop for your students.
WORKSHOP CURRICULUM
Each workshop is a focused entry point into the same developmental system. Students work with a real decision, pressure, transition, or possibility and leave with an applied next step.

COMPLETE THE FULL FUTUREWOVEN™ PATHWAY
Students can complete all six FutureWoven™ workshops, the FutureWoven™ assessment, a learning portfolio, and an approved community impact capstone project.
Participants who complete the full pathway and an approved community impact capstone can receive documentation of eligible community service hours, subject to the requirements and acceptance policies of their school, college, university, or sponsoring organization.
LEARNING THAT CAN TRAVEL WITH STUDENTS
FutureWoven™ is working with higher education partners to explore Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), including Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) pathways, and other learning recognition opportunities that can support student progress and completion.
Academic credit is not guaranteed and is determined by the policies and approval processes of each participating institution.
But what does that actually look like when life gets complicated?
WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE IN REAL LIFE?
FutureWoven™ helps young people connect what they are experiencing now to practical ways of responding with greater clarity, support, and intention.
Six practices young people can return to again and again.
Think Deeply. Harvest Wisdom. Release Patterns. Enlist Allies. Adopt Change. Design Wholeness.
Because the questions change as young people grow.
FutureWoven™ meets young people at key points across the education-to-future journey, with learning and mentoring experiences designed around the decisions, transitions, and possibilities of each stage.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Build self-awareness, confidence, voice, and an early sense of possibility before major choices begin.
HIGH SCHOOL
Connect interests, strengths, values, education, and opportunity while building the capacity to make increasingly intentional choices.
FIRST-YEAR COLLEGE
Navigate independence, belonging, academic expectations, relationships, and changing ideas about who you are and where you are going.
RETURN TO LEARN
Reconnect with learning after interruption, uncertainty, or a change in direction, and clarify what this next chapter needs to make possible.
REWIRING
For young people whose original plan no longer fits. Examine what has changed, release what is no longer working, and intentionally shape a different way forward.
Wherever they enter, the goal is the same:
Help young people build the capacity to understand what is shaping them, navigate what is changing, and make intentional choices about what comes next.
And those capacities travel with them.
WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE BUILD
FutureWoven™ develops capacities young people can carry across school, work, relationships, transitions, and the decisions still ahead.
Capacities for more than the next decision.
Young people learn to understand themselves, recognize what is shaping their choices, engage support, adapt when circumstances change, and move toward the future with greater intention.
And they should not have to leave the places they already know to build them.
WHAT STUDENTS LEAVE WITH
FutureWoven™ is designed to develop and measure capacities, artifacts, connections, and readiness that students can carry into what comes next.
Greater clarity about goals, values, and next steps
Stronger decision-making, self-advocacy, help-seeking, and adaptability
A completed FutureWoven™ Learning Portfolio demonstrating reflection and applied practice
A completed capstone project that brings learning into action
A clearer education, career, or transition next-step plan
Stronger awareness of and connection to mentors, resources, supports, and opportunities
Greater readiness to persist through transitions and continue toward completion
Everything we do is rooted in one belief:
Students deserve more than a pathway. They deserve the capacity, relationships, and opportunities to shape what comes next.
FutureWoven™ can live wherever young people are making decisions about education, work, identity, opportunity, and what comes next.
One framework. Many places to begin.
FutureWoven™ partners with the people and organizations already surrounding young people to bring learning, mentoring, and intentional transformation into the environments where their futures are taking shape.
FutureWoven™ brings learning, mentoring, and practical tools into the places where young people are shaping what comes next.
Shape what comes next, together.
The Thread Institute
The Thread Institute builds your capacity to navigate pressure, recognize patterns, and make more intentional choices so you can lead transformation with greater clarity, purpose, and possibility.
Because wanting transformation and knowing how to move through it are different parts of the journey.
The Transformation Problem
The work begins by seeing what pressure activates and creating space to respond differently.
Here's How
Navigate pressure with greater clarity.
Recognize the patterns shaping how you respond.
Make more intentional choices about what comes next.
That capacity develops through the practices and movements of The T.H.R.E.A.D. System™.

The Thread Movement Journal
Issue One | 2026
By Dr. Leonie H. Mattison, EdD, MBA
The Thread Movement Journal is a research-and-practice publication examining intentional transformation across individual, leadership, organizational, and systems contexts. It creates a place where applied practice, scholarship, lived experience, implementation learning, assessment, and emerging inquiry can meet.
Core Research Logic
The journal is especially interested in what happens between pressure and response: What becomes visible? Which patterns repeat? What does the pattern cost? What practices interrupt or redesign the response? What new possibility becomes available?
Practices as Inquiry
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
A practice and a subject of inquiry.
Movements Through the System
Toward reflection and awareness.
Toward experience, memory, history, and inherited knowledge.
Toward relationships, community, systems, allies, and context.
Toward choice, practice, action, and possibility.
Research Agenda
Emerging inquiry includes measurable constructs, response patterns under pressure, assessment indicators, practice application, individual and organizational transformation, developmental networks, coherence and wholeness, implementation, transfer into practice, maturity and diagnostic development, longitudinal learning, and cross-population application.
Connections include FutureWoven™, WAIT™, the Katherine Harvey Fellowship, the T.H.R.E.A.D. Assessment, organizational transformation, leadership development, education-to-workforce pathways, systems innovation, and human-centered technology.

OUR STORY
The Thread was not created all at once. It emerged through lived experience, inquiry, practice, and time.
A personal rupture, transformational journey, dream, and six symbols became the earliest pieces of what would eventually become The Thread.
Dr. Lee began sharing the emerging ideas in leadership, organizational development, and conversations about transformation.
Writing and early published work gave language to ideas first discovered through lived experience, reflection, and practice.
COVID-19 widened the inquiry from personal transformation to questions of organizational, spiritual, community, and systemic change.
Women Achieve Intentional Transformation became an early application of the emerging methodology through leadership development and mentoring.
Dr. Lee paused public expansion to serve as President and CEO of Pacifica Graduate Institute, where institutional leadership became a living laboratory for learning, service, systems change, and organizational transformation.
Dr. Lee returned to the work and launched the Achieve Intentional Transformation Podcast, reconnecting research, teaching, mentoring, writing, and organizational practice.
The philosophy, methodology, and practical tools came together within The Thread Movement, creating a larger home for the work.
The Thread Institute and The Thread Response Assessment™ created new ways to learn, practice, and apply the methodology to real challenges, opportunities, decisions, and transitions.
The Katherine Harvey Fellowship, FutureWoven™, TransformIt, research and publishing, higher-education pathways, new partnerships, and Santa Barbara Foundation fiscal sponsorship expanded the Movement's reach and public purpose.
Rupture → Dream → Thread → System → Toolkit → Practice → Movement → Institute → Assessment → Possibility
